An excellent HD TV

Strengths: Sony brand, great picture, piano black bezel

Weakness: Does not swivel

An incredible TV, the HD picture is as good as I've ever seen and blu rays look great. I have this as a bedroom TV and I'm completely satisfied. It was a tough task, but it improved on last year's V series model.

Sports programs look excellent on this model. The picture stays sharp, and the motion blur is not very evident as it has been on older models. Also, the black bezel looks very slick, and makes the TV look like a piece of furniture.

I would definitely recommend this HDTV as a great bedroom or apartment set.

BRAVO BRAVIA

Strengths: Great picture, easy setup, many possible picture/sound configurations

Weakness: Some functions on the remote are not intuitive

Our satellite feed is not 1080p; I did get OTA DTV feeds up to 1080i, which looked very sharp. I will probably get an upconvert DVD player to get 1080p. This is my problem, not the TV's. We already got rave reviews from friends and neighbors. I had thought the 40" would be too small for our family room but it seems just right. Time will tell; we may move the 40" to the bedroom and get a 52" for the FR. I've already watched several action movies. The built-in S-FORCE Front Surround is good but not quite like a separate home theater system.

Amazing HDTV for a good price

Strengths: User friendly menu, cinemotion, 24p true cinema, sound, response to remote, deep black levels

Weakness: USB is only for DMeX, no swivel stand, no backlight on remote

Very happy with this LCD HDTV. The colors and viewing experience is better than its competition. Design is very nice too. Remote is very user friendly. Cinemotion and game modes are very useful for fast motion and movies. The HDMI sync feature is good but only works with sony blu ray I think. Overall, its a nice buy and good bang for buck.

Amazing Picture Quality accompanied with Great...

Strengths: Non-shiny Screen, Crisp picture, Loads of picture controls, Four HDMIs

Weakness: Price, none other so far.

For under $1300, the only alternative to this TV was the Samsung A650, whose shiny screen was pretty bad for medium to well lit rooms. The Sony 40v4100 has the perfect screen finish for any room. The colors are extremely good, and the sound is just amazing. No need to get any additional audio equipment unless you are setting up a home theater.

It has some amazing picture controls like backlight, noise reduction, black correction, gamma, color temperature in addition to the regular sharpness, color, etc.

The power-on time is less than 2 seconds. I have included a picture of the TV playing an old movie (the firm), using an up-scaling 1080p DVD player.

Top Brand, Great Quality, Low Price

Strengths: Vivid colors, great stereo sound, plenty of features, nice control interface, easy to use setup wizard.

Weakness: Build quality feels more plastic than previous models. Some channels appear stalling or signal can't be decoded. But I tend to believe it's not the TV problem.

I purchased it for $1169 with a bonus wallmount. Can't beat the price for the innovative SONY brand name. It's SONY so picture quality is a sure thing. The new design looks great even though I think it could be built more solid. No video/audio cables included, which comes as extra costs to you.

wonderful, great deal

Strengths: Very bright! Gorgeous resolution. Lot's of inputs. Awesome price. Outstanding colors. BIG PLUS: This 40"" monitor qualifies for inhome warranty service, rather than you having to ship it to them

Weakness: lines appear on some hd channels, this doesn't happen on my xbr4, the lines only appear on 2-3 channels, mostly TNT and ABC. everything else is fine, I'm still wondering what the lines are...maybe my connections to directv hd dvr reciever.

No Cons that stand out. I guess some of the more technical consumers on here would prefer if this television had several HDMI ports as opposed to just one. Buy it.

Great Product

Strengths: Everything

Weakness: None

We bought this TV as a second set for the bed room and a cheaper option offcourse. We had a 40" XBR5. This set is awesome in the dollar amount. It gives u the best in the dollar amount. The LED technology is great. If u go into the minutes details, the XBR5 is better in presenting blacks, but this may be a personal opinion. When I was buying XBR5, I checked Samsung 4081 and hated the LED technology it gave and thats the reason the price of 4081 dropped nose down.
Overall this is the best cheapest option out there in th emarket. It has 60 Hz motion flow but trust me it doesn't matter much for most of the viewrs, and I can tell u that after running xbr5 and this side by side for a month.
With this TV, good by Samsung and Sharp, we have the cheapest from the best.

Bravia LCD

Strengths: Deep rich color, bright display

Weakness: Price

Sony never fails when producing LCD TV's. They have been the leader for years, and certainly beat out the competition.
This LCD can be view from any angle it does not have a limited viewing angle like most plasma. You can find similar low end models at Costco, that have a greater warranty than other retailers so i definitely recommend shopping around before making a purchase.
