One of the best superzoom non dslr camera aroundStrengths: Leica glass, F2.8, wide-angle, lightweight, you can zoom while filming, vivid and crisp pictures Weakness: slow response My sister had FZ18, and I borrowed hers time to time. Loved the camera and decided to buy Panasonic DMC-FZ28 for myself, and I am thinking that this Panasonic line is the one of the best superzoom non dslr camera around. I considered buying DSLR until I came to my senses and realized that for 99% of anyone's photographic needs these cameras fill the bill. If you're a professional photographer or...

Awesome Super-Zoom!Strengths: Features: 18X Zoom, Anti-Shake & Red Eye Reduction! Easy to use and quick to learn how to operate well. Weakness: None I had bought a Fuji film S8000 fd and liked it a lot. But I kept hearing about this camera and a friend of mine bought one. Game changer, this camera is so much better in every way.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 (silver)
THE GOOD: Useful 27mm wide-angle zoom; excellent image stabilization; full selection of manual and automatic exposure controls; 720p movie capture with operational zoom; relatively fast. THE BAD: Prone to soft, noisy photos; no hotshoe. THE BOTTOM LINE: Other cameras may deliver higher resolution and longer optical zooms, but the Panasonic FZ28 proves that the "more is better" presumption isnt... Top

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28S | Silver
The Panasonic DMC-FZ28 straddles the line between compact digital camera and dSLR. While it is a single body/lens unit, the DCM-FZ28 does offer full manual exposure control and a massive zoom range (18x) from moderate wide-angle to telephoto. While it doesnt offer the total range of versatility found with a dSRL and a camera bag full of lenses, it does come close in a much more portable package.... Top

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28
True to the line, the Panasonic Lumix FZ28 is a good quality digital camera with a long, 18x zoom. Image quality is excellent at wide angle, and only suffers a bit in the corners at telephoto. Most impressive is the Panasonic FZ28's low chromatic aberration at wide angle, as well as the sharp corners, something most long zoom digital cameras cannot achieve. Barrel distortion is minimal at wide... Top

Camera Labs – Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 review
Panasonic's Lumix FZ28 may only represent a minor upgrade over its predecessor, but since that was already one of the best super-zooms around, it places the FZ28 in an even stronger position. Beyond minor irritations with the lens hood, cap and Program line selecting smaller apertures than it needs to, there's really very little to fault it on. Buy the FZ28 and you'll get a compact, lightweight... Top

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 review
The Panasonic LUMIX FZ28 is a logical successor to its predecessor. It is a Megazoom camera perfectly updated for this time and age, thanks to the resolution increase, improved algorithms and powerful image processor. If you find a DSLR camera too complicated (large and heavy), or if you simply want a large optical zoom range in the most compact size possible; go for the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ28. Top

Very nice images--but canblow highlights
Strengths: easy to use quite nice image quality, can add a 46mm filter! RAW is great option
Weakness: Tends to "blow" highlights
Purchased as a backup for my DSLR--also a light camera easy to toss in the backpack when not shooting formally--but still shoots acceptable images. It fills the bill nicely. Photos have good color, clarity, edge-to-edge sharpness, and there is even decent bokah at medium to long-range tele. Nice for portraits as well as macro. Overall has a professional feel and finish.
